Martha’s Vineyard Jet Charter

Private flights from Boston to Martha’s Vineyard exist because there is no nonstop
commercial service from Logan to the island. Martha’s Vineyard Airport (KMVY/MVY)
is the only airport on the Vineyard, it sits in the middle of the island near West Tisbury, and it
is a short hop from Hyannis or Boston. Charter here is the direct way in, not a luxury alternative to one.

Private Jet Charter to Martha’s Vineyard

The Vineyard is the most seasonal destination on this site and the most weather-exposed. Summer
runs hard from late June to Labor Day, Edgartown and Oak Bluffs fill first, and the Friday evening
arrivals and Sunday evening departures are the legs to book early. Fog is a real planning factor and not a footnote: it can close in quickly off the water and it moves departure times, so we
build in cushion and we talk about alternates before the day rather than on it.

Winter Changes the Math Here

This is the one fact about the Vineyard most pages leave out. The tower is open from 6 a.m. to
10 p.m. from May 15th to October 31st, but only from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. from November 1st to May 14th. A
winter afternoon departure sits close to the edge of those hours, and after 5 p.m. in winter it is
an uncontrolled-field operation. That is not a reason to avoid a winter trip, it is a reason to
settle the departure time early, and it is the kind of thing worth knowing before you plan a day
trip in February.

The island also carries no customs in the FAA record, so an international arrival clears on the
mainland first and then continues to the Vineyard. Hanscom in Bedford is a user-fee customs airport
and is the usual choice for that first stop.

Runway length is a fact about the airport, not a verdict on your trip. What a given aircraft can do from a given field on a given day is a performance calculation the operator runs against the weather and the load, and we get that answer in writing before anything is confirmed.

Aircraft for Martha’s Vineyard Charter Flights

The aircraft follows the trip, not the other way around. Passenger count, baggage, the length of the leg and the airport all narrow it down before anything is quoted. These are the categories we work with, each with the aircraft in it.

If you are not sure which band fits, describe the trip and we will tell you. The aircraft index covers the whole fleet.

Additional Airports near Martha’s Vineyard

There is no second airport on the island, so the alternatives are all a water crossing away.
Cape Cod Gateway Airport, Hyannis, MA (KHYA/HYA) is the nearest mainland field and the one most
island trips connect through, with a longer tower day in winter. Nantucket Memorial Airport
(KACK/ACK) is the other island field. New Bedford Regional Airport, New Bedford, MA (KEWB/EWB)
covers the south coast, and Laurence G. Hanscom Field, Bedford, MA (KBED/BED) is the Boston-area
airport for a connecting leg.
